What is Toto?

Toto  exists to make it ridiculously easy for musicians to sell stuff to their fans online. With absolutely zero cost or risk, and pretty minimal effort, bands can use Toto to make money by selling t-shirts, hoodies, artwork and music.

You’re happy because you’re making money, and your fans are happy because they get a quality of shopping experience and customer service which you could never provide on your own.

And we’re happy because we’re making life better for musicians all over the world.

What’s the Toto story?

Toto is a story of a lot of trial, a lot of error, and a lot of determination to make life better for our fellow musicians.

First, there were the years of being in bands and failing to get any t-shirts on sale.  Who could afford to drop a few hundred pounds on getting a bulk run made? Who was going to be responsible for going to the post office every time there was an order? (spoiler: never the drummer)

Then, after we’d heard about direct-to-garment printing, which allows you to affordably print a single t-shirt ‘on demand’, we had the idea for Toto – to scratch our own itch and help loads of bands in the same position as us too.

What followed was another two years of failure – ruining hundreds of t-shirts, honing the print technique until we were convinced that ANY design our users uploaded would come out absolutely perfectly.

So, the Toto you see before you now is the product of hundreds of failures, some big and some small, until we’ve arrived at something which we’re pretty convinced is a hugely useful platform for musicians of all stripes.

Toto in 2011 is a small team with big ideas. Everyone who works at Toto is a musician, and our guiding philosophy is simple – anything which makes life better for musicians and their fans, we’ll do. We’re aware that whenever a customer orders from Toto, they don’t necessarily know or care about us – we’re representing YOU, and it’s our mission for every customer to go away delighted.
